- Resistance: 250K ohm with standard 20% resistance tolerance; In general, 250K-ohm potentiometers are used with single-coil pickups. While any resistance value can be used, a 250K pot yields a slightly warmer tone compared to a 500K one. This is because the 250K pot bleeds off (or attenuates) some high frequencies to ground, contributing to that warmer character
- Linear Taper: Linear Taper (B) increases or decreases in a linear fashion. Mostly, Linear Taper (B) are used for Volume controls. In practice, you can use an Audio Taper for volume or a Linear Taper for toneultimately, the choice comes down to personal preference
