- Resistance: 250K ohm with standard 20% resistance tolerance; In general, 250K-ohm potentiometers are used with single-coil pickups. While any resistance value can be used, a 250K pot yields a slightly warmer tone compared to a 500K one. This is because the 250K pot bleeds off (or attenuates) some high frequencies to ground, contributing to that warmer character
- Audio & Linear Taper: Audio Taper (A) increases or decreases in a sloped, curved fashion; Linear Taper (B) increases or decreases in a linear fashion. Mostly, Audio Taper (A) are used for Tone controls and Linear Taper (B) are used for Volume controls. In practice, you can use an Audio Taper for volume or a Linear Taper for toneultimately, the choice comes down to personal preference
