- Photosensitive PLA Filament Sovol light change PLA filament contains photosensitive materials, which can change color rapidly after absorbing UV light energy. Without UV light, the filament appears white. Only expose it to UV lights for 10 seconds, the white filament would fast change to purple and keep it in purple for 1-2 mins. During these 2 mins you can experience various shades of purple, and then the filament will return to white. You can also achieve an irregular white-purple gradient effect by shielding some parts of your prints from UV light
