Price History extension: Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

This policy covers the Price History browser extension ("the extension"), published by Price History (pricehistory.app). The pricehistory.app website and the Price History app are covered by our main privacy policy.

In short

1. Data that stays in your browser

You can export this data as a backup file, import it, or delete it in Settings. Uninstalling the extension deletes it.

2. Data the extension sends, and why

Price history lookups (Amazon.in, Flipkart, Croma). When you open a product page on these stores, the extension sends pricehistory.app the store, the product ID, the price, offer price and coupon shown on the page, the lightning-deal price if there is one, the delivery PIN code shown on the page, and whether the page shows you as a Prime or Flipkart Plus member. We use these to find the product's price history, to check prices for your delivery area, and to recheck our record when the page shows a different price. The same lookup happens when you point at a Price History mark on a search result, when you point at a store link on another website (signed in), and when you use the cart check (signed in). When you are signed in, lookups go to our account server and are linked to your account.

Other stores. On other shopping sites, the extension reads the price from the page and keeps it in your browser. Nothing from those pages is sent to us, except the shop's domain name in the anonymous usage statistics below, and the product's address when you click Buy or View deal (see Affiliate links).

Background price checks. For products you track, the extension loads the product page from the store in the background, the way your browser would, and reads the price. That request goes to the store, not to us.

Your account (optional). You can sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, with Google, or by signing in on pricehistory.app or pricehistoryapp.in, which passes the sign-in to the extension. We receive your email address and, from Google, your name. If you add them to your profile, we also keep your name, mobile number and PIN code. When you sign in with your email or Google, the Amazon, Flipkart and Croma products already saved in your browser move to your account. While you are signed in, the Amazon, Flipkart and Croma products you track, their target prices and your wishlist are saved to your account, so we can check them 24×7 and alert you in the extension, in the Price History app and by email. We also keep the list of devices you're signed in on, so you can see them and sign them out in Settings.

Telegram (optional). If you add your own Telegram bot, alerts go straight from your browser to Telegram, and your bot token is never sent to us. If you connect our official bot, alerts for Amazon and Flipkart products are sent through our relay with the product, the price and your Telegram chat ID.

Sharing (optional). When you share a deal while signed in, we create a short link with the product, its price and, for some cards, your target price or what you saved.

Address bar search. Typing "ph" and a search that matches none of your products opens that search on pricehistory.app.

Usage statistics. The extension sends anonymous events such as "installed", "price panel opened", "alert set" and "price alert sent", with the extension version and, for some events, the shop's domain (like amazon.in) and the type of alert. They carry a random ID created when the extension is installed, not your account, your name or the pages you visit. They go to Google Analytics, with personalised ads turned off, and to our own counter.

Feedback when you uninstall. Chrome opens a short feedback form (Google Forms) after you uninstall. Filling it in is optional.

Invite codes. If you open an invite link on pricehistory.app, the code is kept in your browser and sent to our server after you sign in.

"Buy" and "View deal" links go through our redirect service, phapp.co, which may add our affiliate code so we earn a commission from the store at no cost to you. They open only when you click them, and they tell phapp.co which product you opened: its store and product ID or, for other stores, its address (and, from an alert, your target price and the alert price). The extension never adds affiliate links to pages, never changes the prices you see and never redirects you on its own.

4. How we use data

Only to show price history, check prices, send the alerts you asked for, keep your account in sync, and count how the extension's features are used so we can improve them. We don't sell data, don't use it for advertising or profiling, and don't use it to decide creditworthiness or for lending. The use of information received through the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Who else receives data

We don't share your data with stores or advertisers.

6. How long we keep it, and deleting it

Data in your browser stays until you delete it or uninstall the extension. Account data stays until you delete your account, in the extension (Settings → Account → Delete account) or by emailing us; that removes your trackers, wishlist and alerts everywhere. Usage statistics are kept only in aggregate.

7. Security

Every request uses HTTPS. We never ask for or store a password: you sign in with a one-time code or with Google.

8. Children

The extension is not meant for children under 18.

9. Changes and contact

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Questions or requests: info@pricehistory.app.
