• 3M 4950 VHB Tape is a double-sided tape typically used on metal, glass and high surface energy plastic substrates. It can be used for permanent bonding and attaching applications. The firm foam used in 4950 provides the highest level of foam strength in the 3M VHB family.
• 3M VHB Tape provides the convenience and simplicity of a tape fastener and is ideal for use in many interior and exterior structural bonding applications. In many situations, they can replace rivets, spot welds, liquid adhesives, and other permanent fasteners. These VHB tapes are made with an acrylic foam which is viscoelastic in nature.
• This gives the foam energy absorbing and stress relaxing properties which provides these tapes with their unique characteristics. The acrylic chemistry provides outstanding durability performance and the tapes have excellent durability and excellent solvent and moisture resistance.
• Carrier/Backing: closed-cell acrylic foam (firm). Adhesive: general-purpose acrylic. Release Liner: white paper (printed). Thickness: 48 mils (carrier, adhesive) 45 mils (carrier) 3 mils (liner).
